How the budget works, services spotlight, business plans, and council presentations.
The Budget is how Peel Region pays for the services and infrastructure that residents and businesses need. It is made up of the Operating budget and Capital budget.
The operating budget pays for every day services such as safe streets, clean water, and reliable waste collection.
The capital budget pays for long-term projects like building new infrastructure and maintaining facilities across Peel, like roads, treatment plants, and affordable housing.
Chief Administrative Officer, Gary Kent, and Chief Financial Officer and Commissioner of Corporate Services, Davinder Valeri outline the approach to the 2025 Budget and highlight priority areas for Peel Region moving forward.
As a service focused municipality, the budget is made up of 21 service business plans. Guided by the strategic plan, each service business plan provides an overview of the service, the pressures facing the service, their direction, and plans over the next 4 years.1
